Frequently Asked QuestionsHow safe is Mirro? Very. Thermo Heating Elements, the makers of Mirro, are the original creators of mirror heating systems and are famous worldwide for holding themselves to extremely high safety standards. Mirro is recognized by the Underwriter's Laboratory, and certified TUV, VDE, GS-Safety and CE.
How long does it take to apply Mirro? As part of a new construction project, Mirro takes just about ten minutes to apply and wire into a room's electrical system. Even in an existing room, any qualified electrician should be able to install Mirro in about thirty minutes, including the installation of a junction box.Does Mirro need a transformer?Yes and no. Normally, Mirro is designed to be compatible with your standard existing power source for use on a vanity mirror (110V or 220V), and does not require a transformer. However, should the intended location be in a shower or sauna, a low-voltage version is recommended and may be required (check local building codes). How long will a Mirro System last?Mirro defogging systems are protected by warrantee for five years. And after that? The Polymer Thick Film technology that Mirro employs is highly durable: it’s been used in the automotive market for just over 12 years under the harshest conditions - and the original mirror-defogging systems are still going strong.Does Mirro have to cover the entire mirror? Not at all. In fact, many European luxury hotels have chosen to defog only a portion of the mirror, so that only the center area which reflects a guest’s head and shoulders is cleared, leaving a noticeably attractive “frame of mist” around the guest’s reflection. What shapes and sizes does Mirro come in?If you are planning to purchase a single unit for your house or apartment, Mirro is offered in a wide variety of standard shapes and sizes. For larger projects such as hotels or multiple housing projects, builders, developers and architects can get mirror-defogging systems custom designed to fit almost any shape or size, up to the maximum dimensions of 3 feet by 4 feet. Mirro can create a system to defog the surface of almost any mirror — square, oval, circle, or rectangle. Mirro can also defog a requested shape on the surface of the mirror — a circular or oval shape on a square mirror, for instance. What if I want a framed mirror? Many customers prefer framed mirrors, which have slightly different installment requirements from unframed mirrors. Mirro has years of experience working directly with mirror manufacturers in Europe, and will be glad to work directly with your mirror manufacturer, to install Mirro technology directly into your framed mirror.Could I use Mirro in the shower? You bet! In fact, Europeans do it all the time. It’s a great way for men in particular to shave as part of their morning shower. You just need to use a transformer at installation (with the voltage corresponding to heater voltage chosen) to make sure electrical current stays at safe levels.Where can I get Mirro?Mirro is available only through Thermo Heating Elements, LLC. (See CONTACT INFORMATION) Give us a call. We'll be glad to help you, and create a mirror-defogging system custom-made for your needs.top ^ |
